所謂轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)，是不是意味著你在整個(gè)大學(xué)期間都可以轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)呢？原則上講是可以的，像Wake Forest University :You can apply to transfer to Fordham at any time during your university career. Vanderbilt University: You are welcomed to apply as a transfer student in any year of study. 但不包括極少數(shù)學(xué)校根本不接受轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的，例如,California Institute of Technology: Unfortunately Caltech is no longer taking transfer applications for this year.雖然原則上講是可以的，但是不同大學(xué)階段的申請(qǐng)會(huì)有不同的要求和效果，所以我們要尋找合適的申請(qǐng)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)時(shí)機(jī)。

那么大幾轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)到美國(guó)大學(xué)比較好呢？一般來(lái)說(shuō)，目前普遍大學(xué)二年級(jí)和大學(xué)三年級(jí)的學(xué)生申請(qǐng)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)比較多。但是對(duì)于大學(xué)一年級(jí)學(xué)生而言，不是說(shuō)不可以申，而是有一些先決條件。通常大一學(xué)生申請(qǐng)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的時(shí)候，首先遇到的個(gè)問(wèn)題就是申請(qǐng)遞交材料的時(shí)候往往成績(jī)單還沒(méi)有出來(lái)，要等到來(lái)年三月份開(kāi)學(xué)后左右才能開(kāi)出成績(jī)單。其次，一般學(xué)校都要求如果沒(méi)有修滿(mǎn)45或60左右的學(xué)分的話(huà)，就必須提供SAT的成績(jī)。甚至有極少數(shù)學(xué)校是要求修滿(mǎn)45或60的學(xué)分才能申請(qǐng)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)。所以如果你并不打算考SAT的話(huà)，大一申請(qǐng)并不是合適的。

而對(duì)于大二來(lái)說(shuō)，的確是個(gè)申請(qǐng)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的佳時(shí)機(jī)。因?yàn)橥ǔ＿@個(gè)時(shí)候你已經(jīng)有大一一整年的成績(jī)單，學(xué)分也修得差不多，并不需要提供SAT的成績(jī)。相較于大三轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)而言，不會(huì)浪費(fèi)一些學(xué)分。因?yàn)榇蟛糠衷盒Ｔ诮邮苻D(zhuǎn)學(xué)生時(shí)，多只給轉(zhuǎn)兩年的學(xué)分。也就是說(shuō)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)生少要在錄取的學(xué)校讀兩年才能獲得該校的文憑。比如，F(xiàn)ordham University: You can apply to transfer to Fordham at any time during your university career. However, we will only transfer in a maximum of 60 credits, which is about 2 years worth of study. Boston University: You will be required to complete an extra two years of university if you choose to receive your diploma from Boston University. 也有部分學(xué)?？梢赞D(zhuǎn)三年的學(xué)分，但非常少。像，Virginia Tech: The senior year, with a minimum of 27 of the last 45 semester hours, must be completed at Virginia Tech. 所以大三以后再轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)必定是要浪費(fèi)一些學(xué)分的，有些學(xué)生若并不想浪費(fèi)學(xué)分又或是不想多讀一年的學(xué)生可能大三并不是佳的轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)時(shí)機(jī)。

那么大四究竟還能不能轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)呢？據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì)，三分之二的學(xué)校官方說(shuō)是可以轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的，但是基本所有官方允許大四轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的學(xué)校仍然要求你至少還要再讀兩年。比如，Drexel University: You may apply as a transfer student even though you are a college senior. As long as you do not mind having to begin as a sophomore or junior, it is no problem. University of Rochester: We do accept transfer students that are seniors. You need to know that in order to receive a diploma from the University of Rochester you need to study her for a minimum of two years. 因此，對(duì)于即將畢業(yè)的學(xué)生而言，若經(jīng)濟(jì)上不是很允許的話(huà)，并不劃算，反而建議直接畢業(yè)后申請(qǐng)研究生比較合適。

那么為什么說(shuō)官方說(shuō)法，因?yàn)閺匿浫÷蕘?lái)看，很多學(xué)校在眾多轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的申請(qǐng)者中，同等其他條件下，優(yōu)先淘汰的會(huì)是大四的申請(qǐng)者，因?yàn)閷W(xué)校對(duì)于你是否到時(shí)錄取你后仍然是否可以as a sophomore or junior 讀起會(huì)有一定的質(zhì)疑，以至于大四申請(qǐng)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)者的錄取率并不高，或者說(shuō)要看某些個(gè)別學(xué)校。

那么還有大概三分之一的學(xué)校就是明確講不接受大四轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的，通常這些學(xué)校是比較高端的學(xué)校。例如，MIT : Unfortunately, it sounds like you are too far along in college to be eligible to transfer to MIT. We cannot accept transfer applications from students who at the time of entry to MIT will have been enrolled in college for more than 2.5 years. You are welcome to apply to MIT's graduate programs once you complete your undergraduate degree. Johns Hopkins: I’m sorry Johns Hopkins only accepts transfers in their sophomore and junior years. University of Southern California: We are not likely to admit a student who is close to completing their bachelor's degree at their current school. We typically will suggest finishing your year and applying to a graduate program. University of Florida:

If you have earned 90 or more credits, we would not be able to consider your application for admission as there is a limit regarding the total credits earned and we would not accept some of your credit just for you to be considered as a junior level student as we do not accept applications of students that are sophomore level. 因此，這種情況下大四是不適合轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)的。
